Former Bayelsa State governor, Seriake Dickson, has issued a pointed caution to prominent politicians forming a new opposition coalition ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to reports, the coalition includes key political figures such as former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, ex-Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi, and former Kaduna State Governor Nasir el-Rufa’i.
These political heavyweights gathered in Abuja on Saturday to celebrate Amaechi’s 60th birthday. During the event, Atiku described himself, Amaechi, and el-Rufa’i as “conspirators”, united once again in their opposition to President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
In a sharp response, Dickson reminded the group of their past alliance that led to the ousting of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and former President Goodluck Jonathan in 2015. He argued that despite their efforts, the promised change never materialized for Nigerians.
“When I arrived and saw many of you here, I was reminded—as my brother mentioned—that some of you are seasoned in building coalitions and toppling governments, like you did in 2015 against my party”, Dickson said.
Referring to the administration that followed as one that claimed to be correcting.
